Privacy Policy

ScenePrep is a production-intelligence product for scouting film locations, reviewing map and weather context, saving scout decks, and analyzing user-uploaded frames with AI. We collect only what we need to run those features, secure your account, process payments, and improve the service.

Depending on how you use ScenePrep, we may process:

• Account & auth: email address, authentication identifiers, and (if you choose) a display name, Letterboxd handle, or profile photo.
• Location data: map pins you save, approximate or precise device location when you grant permission (for map scouting, nearby intel, and weather/threat context), and coordinates associated with scouted places.
• Saved scout decks & content: decks, reels, itineraries, custom pins, uploaded or captured images used for AI location scouting or profile pictures, and related metadata.
• Billing: subscription status and payment-related identifiers. Card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details on ScenePrep servers.
• Device & usage: basic technical logs (e.g. app version, error diagnostics) and preference settings stored in your browser or on-device.

When you use a native or wrapped iOS client, the system may ask for hardware permissions. We use them only for the stated purpose:

• Camera: capture profile photos and frames for location-scouting AI analysis.
• Photo library: select or save photos for profile pictures and scouting AI analysis.
• Location (When In Use): map scouting, nearby production intel, and weather/threat context while you are using the app.

You can deny or later revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. Features that depend on a permission will not work until access is granted.

We use trusted processors to operate ScenePrep:

• Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions, and the 7-day ScenePrep Pro trial checkout flow.
• Supabase — authentication and database hosting for accounts, synced scout data, and entitlements.
• AI model providers (e.g. OpenAI) — image analysis and location-scouting suggestions from frames you upload or capture. Uploaded media is sent to the provider solely to generate those results.
• Maps & film metadata providers (e.g. Google Maps / related map APIs, TMDB) — map tiles, geocoding, street imagery, and publicly available film metadata.

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information.

• Provide and secure accounts, Cloud Sync, and Pro entitlements.
• Deliver map scouting, weather/threat context, and AI frame analysis.
• Process subscriptions, trials, and billing support requests.
• Respond to privacy, security, and account-deletion requests.
• Improve reliability and prevent abuse of the service.

We retain account, scout-deck, and related cloud data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Billing records may be kept longer where required for tax, accounting, or dispute resolution. Local preferences and guest data may remain in your browser or on-device until you clear them. After a verified deletion request, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where law requires retention.

To delete your ScenePrep account and associated cloud data:

1. Open Settings in the app (Account → Legal / account controls when available), or
2. Email support@sceneprep.com from the address on your account with the subject “Account deletion request.”

We will verify ownership of the account and delete or anonymize personal cloud data associated with it. Active subscriptions should be canceled via the Stripe customer portal or App Store / Google Play subscription management (as applicable) to stop future charges. Deleting the account does not automatically refund prior payments.
